One year ago, the French American Innovation Day 2019 took place on the topic of ‘Floating Offshore Wind Energy Technology: Innovation To Commercialization: Engineering, Policy, And Development’, organized by Northeastern University, Université de Nantes (Sea and Littoral Research Institute – IUML) and the Office for Science and Technology of the Embassy of France in the US.
This two-day workshop provided an opportunity for 130 people from universities and industry to share their knowledge and needs for improving the competitiveness of Floating Offshore Wind Energy. This interdisciplinary event enabled people from several sectors (engineering, environment, development, financial) to discuss “What are opportunities for innovation in floating offshore wind energy that will have a large impact in the future?”.
We are proud to share with you the report of this event that summarizes the main discussions of the plenary and breakout sessions and the potential collaborations. We look forward to seeing continued collaborations on this important topic.
